Add password protection to your Google Play Account

You can add password protection to help prevent accidental or unwanted purchases on your account, especially if you’ve got kids or other people using your GoTab.

To set up password protection for purchases on the Google Play Store;

1. Open the Play Store app.
2. Touch Menu (in the top right corner) then Settings
3. Under “User controls,” tick the box Checkbox next to “Password – Use password to restrict purchases“.
4. Enter your password when prompted.

After checking off the Password box, you will be asked to enter your password before making your next purchase on Google Play. After signing in to your account, you will be able to make purchases on Google Play for 30 minutes without having to re-enter your password. After 30 minutes or more, you will be required to sign in to your account again to make purchases on Google Play.

Note – Adding password protection to your Google Play account helps prevent unintentional purchases, but does not restrict general access to your device. For security purposes, we recommend setting a lock screen in your GoTab’s security settings (Visit Settings > Security > Screen lock).
